Supporting Survivors of Human Trafficking as they pursue degrees.

Ashley C. Graduation Day
Strategies for Success award ceremony

About the scholarship

A financial award for survivors of human trafficking currently pursuing education. This scholarship seeks to propel awardees in the improvement of their unique skills and employment prospects through financial resources, mentorship, and professional support.

Recipient Amanda shared, “This scholarship has helped me get a second chance in life and in being a successful, productive citizen. After obtaining my degree, I was promoted and received a raise which helps me financially. The knowledge I gained from getting the degree has been indescribable. I am fulfilled by this job and use a lot of what I learned towards it. I am a positive asset to this company and that feels so good. The scholarship made what I believed to be impossible for me, possible!”

Since its inception in 2018 SFS has supported 18 survivors with a total investment of over $105,000!

Frequently asked questions

Remove Participation Barriers

Attending a 60 minute interview and regular meetings with mentors can be difficult for survivors with jobs and families. Reduce those barriers by providing reimbursement for travel and childcare costs incurred while participating in the Strategies for Success Scholarship program.

Survivor mentorship

Support a Mentorship

Provide trauma-responsive care training for a qualified mentor to be able to walk alongside a survivor on her journey of personal growth. Partnering survivors with mentors who are skilled in the field relevant to each survivor’s degree program adds another layer of support and community to the program to prevent program participants from feeling overwhelmed.

Fund a Scholarship

Empower survivors to pursue higher education by providing funding for educational scholarships. You can provide the transformative power of education and its ability to foster discipline, confidence, and the strength to permanently move beyond barriers that might otherwise cause a survivor to lapse, relapse, or remain stagnant.
